How to cook Vareniki? There is nothing easier than buying ready-made dumplings in a store or supermarket and just boiling them in a saucepan. But then, the taste of dumplings will not be the best. The dough is likely to be tough and hard, and the filling is not tasty. This applies even to expensive dumplings. That is why I propose to cook dumplings with your own hands. It's very simple.
Dough Ingredients:
Milk or water - 160 ml. Eggs - 1 - 2 pcs. Salt - ½ tsp Flour - 450 g. Filling: Cabbage - 300 g. Butter - 10 g. Sunflower oil - 2 tbsp. Onion - 1 pc.
Salt - to taste Medium carrot - 1 pc.
Preparation of filling for vareniki.
Heat in a frying pan and add butter and vegetable oil. Lightly fry one finely chopped onion and carrot on it. Add cabbage to onions, carrots and simmer for 15 minutes.
Caramel onion.
Ingredients:
Onion - 1 pc.
Sunflower oil - 100 ml.
Heat homemade oil for pouring in a frying pan and fry the finely chopped onion in it until golden brown.
Test preparation:
Heat milk or water, add salt, egg, flour, then knead the dough for dumplings and leave it under the bowl for 15-20 minutes.
Roll out the dough into a thin layer, cut out the shape of a circle and spread the filling in the center, fold the dumpling and fasten the cut.
Lightly salt the boiling water and boil the dumplings in it for 3 minutes.
Remove the dumplings to a plate and pour the caramel onion on top! Optionally, you can put sour cream on top)) It's very tasty!!!
